The Madhya Pradesh Employees Selection Board (MPESB), on behalf of the Police Headquarters, Home (Police) Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh, has notified the Subedar and Sub-Inspector Cadre Recruitment Selection Exam 2026 for 507 regular vacancies across non-technical and technical branches. The vacancies comprise 81 posts for Subedar, 312 posts for Sub-Inspector (District Executive Force - DEF), 69 posts for Sub-Inspector (Special Armed Force - SAF, male only), and 45 specialized technical SI posts in Arms (10), Fingerprint (22), Photo (9), and Questioned Documents (4). All advertised roles carry pay under Pay Level 9 (₹36,200 – ₹1,14,800). The online application portal on esb.mp.gov.in opens on September 9, 2026, and will close on September 23, 2026 (with application corrections allowed until September 28, 2026). The preliminary written test (100 marks, qualifying nature) is scheduled to commence on October 28, 2026, followed by a main written examination (300 marks per paper), a 100-mark Physical Efficiency Test (PET), document verification, a 50-mark interview/personality test, and a final medical checkup.
Eligibility
To be eligible, candidates must satisfy educational, age, and physical measurement standards assessed as of September 23, 2026. For Subedar, SI (DEF), and SI (SAF), applicants must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized university; for SI (Arms), a 3-year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering is mandatory; and for SI (Photo, QD, Fingerprint), a Bachelor’s Degree in Science with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) is required. The age limit is 18 to 33 years for general/unreserved male applicants and all out-of-state candidates, with the upper age relaxed up to 38 years for female candidates (all categories) and male MP domicile applicants belonging to SC, ST, OBC, or state government service. In physical standards, male candidates must have a minimum height of 167.5 cm and a chest measurement of at least 81 cm unexpanded and 86 cm expanded (minimum 5 cm expansion), while female candidates require a minimum height of 152.4 cm. Candidates must also possess standard visual acuity (uncorrected 6/9 in the better eye and 6/12 in the other, without color blindness) and be free from knock-knees or flat feet.
